Hydroponics/Aquaponics

There are countless variations of soilless horticulture which strive to maintain greater consistency, control, sustainability and efficiency in the growing process. Lighting strategies are relatively consistent with soil-based horticulture.
For greenhouse growing, a typical setup will use one TG33B High Intensity Top-Light fixture to cover approx. 100 sq ft. See Greenhouse - Supplemental Lighting for more information.
For fully enclosed growing, a typical setup will use one TotalGrow Stratum light bar to cover approx. 1'x4' with variations for plant type, size and growing goals. See Vertical Farming for more information. Contact us for recommendations specific to your application.

Mud Lake Farm:
Hydroponic lettuce & herbs
We were very pleased with the results. Not only did the TotalGrow™ light outperform the HPS by 10%, but it did so using far less energy. This fall, we invested in enough lights to fill a greenhouse. We fully intend to switch over all our greenhouses over the next few years. For us, TotalGrow™ lights last longer and use less energy and give better yields – it just makes sense.

Chris Linde Aquaponics:
Aquaponic leafy greens, 12"x12" bulb spacing
The TotalGrow staff has helped me dial in an excellent lighting solution for the aquaponics system I have developed. All of the crops are growing great!

Peckham Farms:
Tomato production, overhead/interplant lighting
Our TotalGrow™ light fixtures have made it possible for us to grow larger, healthier tomatoes in significantly less time.

The Rainbow Makers:
Medical marijuana, replaced 1000W HPS w/ (3) 143W TG
The TotalGrow™ lights have the absolute best light spectrum and are very economical to use. They are low on electricity, very low. They are low wattage to begin with, but also don’t create the heat of HPS, so I don’t have to add as much humidity and do not need to pull heat out of the growing area. Both lower my overall cost and hassle. Stalks are fatter, leaves are healthier and all of that just leads to better medicinal product.
